BRAZIL: Difference of price between anhydrous and hydrous ethanol reduces

The spread between the prices of anhydrous and hydrous ethanol in Brazil's São Paulo state was at 3.4% last week, the lowest rate since March 2, 2007, when it reached 3.2%, according to the Centre for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics (CEPEA), reports Sugaronline.

Considering the average prices for the current season, this ratio is at 9.5%.

The average price of hydrous ethanol in the week of March 5-9 was at BRL 1.8797/litre (US$0.5797), down 0.11% from the previous week. Anhydrous ethanol price, was at BRL 1.943/litre (US$0.5992), a decrease of 1.26% , according to CEPEA/ESALQ index.

Since the start of 2018, the price of hydrous ethanol increased 6%, while anhydrous is 0.41% higher.
