CHINA: Guanxi 2017/18 sugar production at 671,300 tonnes through November

As of the end of November, all of the beet sugar mills and 41 cane sugar mills are operating in China, five fewer than last year, reports Sugaronline.

So far in 2017/18 crush season, China produced 671,300 metric tonnes of sugar compared to 648,900 tonnes during the same period last year. The total includes 49,400 tonnes of cane sugar, compared to 90,000 tonnes last year, and 621,900 tonnes of beet sugar compared to 558,900 tonnes last year.

In the same period, China sold 302,200 tonnes of sugar compared to 280,100 tonnes during the same period last year. Of the total, 32,300 tonnes of cane sugar was sold against 78,000 tonnes, and 269,900 tonnes of beet sugar compared to 202,100 tonnes last year.
